Richard Little

Richard Little, Professor do Departamento de Política da Universidade de Bristol, acaba de ser nomeado Fellow da British Academy, uma grande distinção no mundo científico e académico britanico.

Segundo a nota da Universidade, a "British Academy, (is) the national academy for the humanities and the social sciences responsible for promoting research and scholarship in all branches of humane and social studies.

Emeritus Professor Richard Little (...) has been elected in recognition of his outstanding contributions to international relations theory. His most recent book provides a reassessment of the role played by the balance of power in international politics and he is currently working on a book that examines the historical evolution of the international society.

His research interests over the past 40 years have ranged from an analysis of foreign aid allocation to an historical investigation of external interventions into civil wars. For the past 20 years his research orientation has primarily focused on the examination of international relations from a world historical perspective."

Para além do brilhantismo intelectual e do contributo impar para a Teoria das Relações Internacionais, Richard Litlle é um excelente professor, sempre pronto a ouvir e dialogar com os alunos, a incentivar quando as coisas parecem estar a correr mal e a aconselhar quando não se sabe o que fazer.

Tive o gosto e o prazer de conversar e de muito aprender com ele durante os anos que estive em Bristol e fico muito satisfeito por ver o seu trabalho reconhecido, uma vez mais, pelos seus pares.
